Yarnball’s Yarn

I was about ten at that time, I tried making a yarn ball after seeing a senior doing it. After while I started to master it, a friend asked me to teach her how to do it. Then, thing went viral, almost everyone in my class was busy making the balls. I turned out to be like a master of yarn balls (according to my own thought). Yet, that pride didn’t last so long, since everyone knew how to make it, my significance seemed to fade and people already forgot that I was the one who brought this thing up, just like the surrounding balls that are slowly absorbing the vibrancy of the ball in the center.

This installation captured a mundane memory that seems insignificant, yet still appears cleary in my head. It explore and visualise the nostalgia through installation and the use of ready-made materials.
